Fancy PeterPaul
Fancy PeterPaul, also known as Andrea PeterPaul, is an Indigenous artist of Mi'kmaq ancestry. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she pursued her passion for fine arts at the Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design. Her work is deeply influenced by the legends and life-ways of her people, bringing a mystic quality to her pieces through fine detail and a unique, contemporary native style. Currently residing in Elsipogtog and painting in Nova Scotia, Fancy's art has been exhibited throughout the Maritimes. Her style seamlessly blends traditional and semi-abstract elements, creating a distinctive voice in the art world. Fancy honed her artistic skills not only through formal education but also by observing her cousin, Roger Simon, paint from a young age.
"Watching my cousin Roger paint from a young age was more than just an artistic lesson; it was a profound experience of learning from others. It taught me the importance of sharing knowledge and the deep connection we have to our craft and each other." — Fancy PeterPaul
