Lewis Wilfred Adams (Kam Naa Walx)
Lewis Wilfred Adams, known by his native name Kam Naa Walx ("One who carries the responsibility of his people upon his shoulders"), is an artist from Gitlaxt'aamix Village (New Aiyansh) in the Nisga'a Nation on the Nass River. A member of Wilps Wii Litsxw, his mother's family Clan Wolf Tribe, Lewis was born on the banks of the Nass River on December 28th, 1958, at 6:00 am. In 1995, Lewis began exploring the integration of native art with digital technology, a challenge that allowed him to depict his Nation's Four main tribes—Eagle, Raven, Wolf, and Killerwhale—and their connections to the animal kingdom. His work reflects a deep respect for these relationships and the cultural heritage they represent.
"My wish was to depict ALL Tribes Of All Nations to STAND as ONE with ALL of the Animal Kingdom, for which we are Charged with the Stewardship to speak up for. All Man standing as ONE with ALL Animals in UNITY." — Lewis Wilfred Adams (Kam Naa Walx)
